  • You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, however, if you talk to your GP they may help you by completing a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under the Better Access Initiative (a longer GP appointment may be required). You will then be able to receive a Medicare rebate of approximately $93.35 per session for up to 10 sessions a year.

You will need to send your MHCP and referral letter to us via fax or email prior to your first appointment to claim. The letter should be dated and be directed to Optimistic Health and Wellbeing, 696 Beaufort St Mount Lawley, WA 6050.

You will need a re-referral from your GP after the 6th and 10th sessions.

Further information about Medicare and the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative can be found here:

You will need to confirm your level of cover with your insurance provider.

*You cannot claim a rebate from both Medicare and your private insurer.

Please specify whether or not you will be using private health insurance, a MHCP or NDIS funding.
